NPSC Announces Police Nationwide Recruitment Dates, Requirements and Venues

The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has announced the nationwide recruitment of 10,000 police officers, following its presentation of recruitment plans for the 2025/2026 Financial Year to the Departmental Committee on Administration and Internal Security.

NPSC advertised the recruitment including the venues and dates in a notice on Friday, September 19, 2025.

“Pursuant to the Constitution of Kenya Articles 246(3), 248(4), 243, 238(d), 10, sections 10, 11 and 12 of the National Police Service Commission Act Cap 85 and the National Police Service Act Cap 84, the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) seeks to recruit suitably qualified persons to be trained as Police Constables,” NPSC said.

The Commission said recruitment will run from 3rd to 9th October.

Corruption During Recruitment

The Commission also warned that engaging in bribery or other corrupt with the intent to influence the recruitment process constitutes a criminal offence under section 25 of the National Police Service Commission Act.

“Any person who willfully gives to the Commission any information which is false or misleading in any material particular commits an offence and shall on conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding two hundred thousand shillings (Ksh. 200,000) or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two (2) years or both,” NPSC said.

NPSC urged the public to report any incidences of recruitment malpractices to the nearest Police Station or call 0709099000, 999, 911112 or #FichuaKwaDCI 0800722203.”

The recruitment process will be conducted from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the designated centers, on the dates and times specified for each location.

How to Apply

Interested and qualified applicants are required to download and fill the prescribed application form available on any of the following websites: npsc.go.ke, www.dci.go.ke, www.administrationpolice.go.ke, www.kenyapolice.go.ke, www.nationalpolice.go.ke and www.mygov.go.ke.

Candidates can also get the forms from the nearest Huduma Centres or fill and download the application using the following link: https://prs.npsc.go.ke.

Entry Requirements

Applicants shall be required to meet the following minimum requirements:

a) Be a citizen of Kenya.
b) Hold a Kenya National Identity Card.
c) Age: 18–28 years.
d) Minimum grade in KCSE: D+ (with a minimum of D+ in English or Kiswahili).
e) Be physically and medically fit.
f) Minimum height: Male – 5ft 8in., Female – 5ft 3in.
g) Have no criminal record or pending criminal charges.

NPSC emphasized that female candidates must not be pregnant at recruitment and during the entire training period.

It also encouraged National Youth Service (NYS) graduates who meet minimum entry requirements to apply.
