Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have foiled a carefully planned robbery targeting a senior military officer in Kitengela, in a major intelligence-led operation that led to the arrest of six suspects.
The operation uncovered a criminal syndicate involving both serving Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) personnel and civilian accomplices, raising concerns over insider-linked criminal activities.
According to Investigators, the breakthrough came after authorities received credible intelligence on Monday, March 23, 2026, about a planned robbery.
Detectives immediately placed the suspects under close surveillance, tracking their movements and preparations ahead of the planned attack.
On the day of the planned robbery, the suspects arrived at the target location using two vehicles: a black Toyota Harrier (registration number KCR 809K) and a Toyota Ractis (registration number KCM 804L), which remained nearby with a driver on standby.
A female suspect stepped out of the Harrier and approached the main gate, pretending to seek access.
However, detectives who had already secured the area moved in swiftly and arrested her, prompting the swift interception of both vehicles by backup teams.
The quick response led to the successful arrest of all individuals involved before the plan could be executed.

The six suspects arrested include both military personnel and civilians:
All suspects remain in custody as detectives continue with processing and interrogation.
A search conducted at the scene led to the recovery of several items believed to have been intended for use during the robbery.
Authorities believe the use of military gear may have been part of a strategy to gain access or avoid suspicion.
