FKF Suspends Club Following Violent Match Incident

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Nairobi East County Branch has suspended Jacaranda Bunge FC after players and supporters engaged in violent behaviour during their match against Mentors FC.

The clash, played on April 3, 2026, turned chaotic when officials reported assaults on the match referee.

Match officials said that Jacaranda Bunge FC players and fans acted aggressively, attacking the referee.

FKF Nairobi East condemned the behaviour, stating that it breaks the core values of football, including respect, fairness, and safety.

“The actions of Jacaranda Bunge FC threaten the integrity of the sport. We will not allow this behaviour to continue,” the branch said.

Immediate Suspension Enforced

FKF Nairobi East acted swiftly. It suspended Jacaranda Bunge FC with immediate effect. The club cannot participate in any league matches or competitions until the investigation concludes.

The league and competitions committee will examine the incident thoroughly. They will determine the penalties according to FKF rules. The committee aims to ensure justice and set a clear example for all clubs.

FKF Calls for Sportsmanship
