Share

Safaricom has officially launched My OneApp, an AI-powered super app that merges the M-PESA App and MySafaricom App into a single platform, consolidating its services to offer users a seamless all-in-one digital experience.

The new app allows customers to manage their finances, pay bills, top up airtime, access digital products, and explore entertainment and lifestyle services, all from a single interface.

It was unveiled on April 1, 2026, during the second day of the Decode Summit in Nairobi and is now available for Android users on the Google Play Store

Speaking during the launch, Safaricom’s Chief Financial Services Officer Esther Waititu said the platform allows customers to access all essential services in one place.

She stated that users can now seamlessly view their M-PESA balance, airtime balance, bills, bundles and other financial services without switching between applications.

Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa said the move reflects the company’s broader evolution beyond traditional telecommunications.

“We are no longer just a telco. We are becoming a technology company building the intelligent digital infrastructure that will power Kenya’s future,” he said.

The new super app combines services previously offered separately, bringing together over 6.5 million active users and integrating more than 80 mini-applications into one ecosystem.

Key Features

My OneApp enables users to carry out a wide range of financial and lifestyle services, including sending money, paying bills, buying goods, withdrawing cash, and making international transfers.

Customers can also purchase airtime, subscribe to data bundles, and access personalised offers such as Tunukiwa bundles.

The platform introduces a simplified dashboard where users can track M-PESA transactions and view statements instantly. Additional financial services include access to Fuliza credit, investment opportunities through Ziidi money market funds, share trading via CD Trader, and business tools like Pochi la Biashara.

Beyond finance, the app expands into digital lifestyle services. A dedicated section known as Funtabu offers affordable eBooks across various topics, while users can also purchase newspapers directly from the app. Entertainment options such as gaming, news, and third-party integrations further position the platform as a comprehensive digital hub.

Other Features

The app features biometric authentication, allowing users to log in using fingerprint or facial recognition.

It also supports offline transactions for select services such as sending money, buying airtime, and withdrawing cash, even without an active internet connection.

Users can personalise their experience by saving frequent contacts, generating QR codes for payments, and tracking spending patterns through the “My Spend” feature. The platform also enables downloading and sharing transaction receipts and statements in PDF format.

How to Download

To access the new platform, users can download My OneApp from the Google Play Store, register using their M-PESA PIN, and complete verification via a one-time password sent to their mobile number.

Optional biometric login can also be enabled for faster access for users whose phones are biometric-enabled.
