Safaricom My OneApp Now Works on Airtel and Other Networks
Earlier, Safaricom announced that customers who use Safaricom can now sign in to My OneApp on Airtel Kenya and other networks.
This was after users who compared Safaricom and competing networks will no longer be kicked out of the app when they lose the Safaricom network.
The solution comes a few months after the launch of My OneApp. One of the earliest and strongest complaints since April has been from the diaspora, stating that the app became a costly, inefficient venture as soon as they left Kenya.
“The latest update will now keep the app running regardless of network changes, whether at home, roaming, or on Wi-Fi, resolving a problem that greatly hampered daily use of the app among Kenyans away from home.” Stated Safaricom.

The app still requires an initial activation on Safaricom mobile data, as tests failed when using Wi-Fi, Airtel, and other networks for the initial setup, even on the new version.
“The app is very stable, and switching between networks will now run smoothly,” Stated Tech Cabal.
It has also seemingly reduced the instability and one-time password errors that flooded the Google Play Store and social media posts post-launch.
