Kisumu County has announced 185 job vacancies across various departments on a permanent and pensionable basis, with the exception of the Chief Executive Officer position at the Kisumu Revenue Board, which will be offered on a three-year contract.
In a notice dated Tuesday, April 28, 2026, the Kisumu County Public Service Board invited qualified, motivated and proactive individuals to apply for the positions.
“Kisumu County Public Service Board invites applications from suitably qualified, motivated and proactive individuals to fill vacancies in the following departments,” read part of the notice.
The Department of Medical Services, Public Health and Sanitation has the highest number of vacancies, accounting for 162 positions.
Within the department, Registered Nurse III positions lead with 107 vacancies, followed by Pharmaceutical Technologist III with 10 positions.
Other advertised roles in the health department include Family Physician/Family Medicine Specialist (5), Medical Officer (6), Registered Clinical Officer Anaesthetist (4), Registered Clinical Officer III (7), Medical Laboratory Technologist III (8), Assistant Public Health Officer III (7), Assistant Occupational Therapist II (2), Assistant Physiotherapist III (3), Medical Engineering Technologist III (3), Health Records and Information Management Officer III (4), Administrative Officer III (Health) (5), Ambulance Drivers (3), and Assistant Community Health Officer III (3).
In the Department of Water, Environment, Climate Change and Natural Resources, the county has advertised several technical positions. These include Assistant Engineer (Water Provision) (2), Hydrogeologist (1), Assistant Engineer (Water Infrastructure) (1), Assistant Sanitation Engineer (1), Water Supply Inspector (1), Senior Superintendent (Water) (1), Environmental Engineer (1), and Climate Change Officer (1).
Applicants interested in the positions are required to download and fill the application for employment form available on the Kisumu County website (www.kisumu.go.ke).

Applicants must clearly indicate the job title in the email subject line.
Alternatively, hard copy applications can be delivered in a sealed envelope indicating the position applied for to the Kisumu County Public Service Board offices located along Okore Road in Milimani during working hours.
The deadline for submission of applications is May 19, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
Candidates with foreign qualifications are required to have their certificates authenticated by the Commission for University Education (CUE).
Successful applicants will also be required to meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
The board cautioned applicants against canvassing, warning that it will lead to automatic disqualification. It also emphasized that it does not charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process.
