Kenya Power and Lighting Company has announced a planned power maintenance that will affect several counties across the country on Thursday, April 30, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. in most areas.
In Nairobi County, the power outages will affect parts of Lang’ata and Donholm Savannah.
Areas in Lang’ata set to experience interruptions include Muiri Lane, Panda Mart, Galleria Mall, KWS Headquarters.
Also in Lang’ata Barracks, Jambo Estate, KRA Lang’ata, Carnivore, KWS Club, Trident Park, Serene Gardens, and nearby customers.
In Donholm and Savannah, affected locations include Total Energies Donholm, Equity and Co-op Banks Donholm
Other areas in Donholm are Mima Centre, New and Old Donholm estates, Savannah area, Greenfields, Sunrise, Donholm Phase 5 and 8, Oyster Village, and the surrounding areas.
In Kajiado County, parts of Rongai along Magadi Road will be affected, including areas near Total and Shell petrol stations, Olerai School, Kware Market, Nairobi Women’s Hospital, Ronga Link, Church Road, and Olemotondo.
Western Region
In the Western region, parts of Kisumu County, including Chulaimbo Hospital, Masaba Hospital, and Ojola, will experience outages from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Nyeri County in the Mt. Kenya region will also be affected, with interruptions scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In areas such as Kagumo High School, Kirichu Market, Ndurutu, Kiganjo Estate, Gachika High School, Kang’ong’a, and Ndathi-Ini.
In Kiambu County, parts of Runda, including Erysian Resort, Runda Farm, Runda Mhasibu, and Kasarini, will be impacted.

Coastal Counties
Coastal counties will also experience outages. In Mombasa County, areas along Kirima Road and Old Mugoya, such as Kongowea, Bombolulu, Ziwa la Ng’ombe, and Bandari Quarters, will be affected.
In Tana River County, parts of Vibao Viwili and Hurara will face interruptions.
Kwale County areas, including Mwachema, Tiwi Sokoni, Tiwi Beach, Kombani, Matuga, Waa, and Ngombeni, are also listed.

Taita Taveta
In Taita Taveta County, the entire Taveta Town and Kirumbi areas, including surrounding centres such as Timbila, Darajani, Kajire, and Mwambiti, will have no electricity during the maintenance period.
Kenya Power has stated that the planned power interruptions are part of routine maintenance aimed at improving service delivery and network reliability.
Customers have been advised by KPLC to plan accordingly during the power outage period.
