Makueni County Announces 50 Job Vacancies: How To Apply

The Makueni County Public Service Board has announced 25 job vacancies across several county departments.

A recruitment notice was issued on May 21, 2026, under Article 176 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and Section 59 of the County Governments’ Act 2012.

According to the notice, the county government of Makueni is seeking qualified and competent individuals to fill 50 positions in departments including Lands, Health Services, Finance, Water and Irrigation, Agriculture, and Devolution.

In the Department of Lands, Urban Planning and Development, Environment and Climate Change, the county advertised five positions.

Department Of Lands

These include one Director for Lands, Urban Planning and Development, one Chief Physical Planner, two Land Survey Assistants III, and one Senior Support Staff position. The Director position is listed as a re-advertisement.

The Department of Health Services also announced four vacancies under a re-advertisement.

The openings include one Senior Assistant Director of Medical Services/Medical Specialist I – Anaesthesiologist, one Senior Assistant Director of Medical Services/Medical Specialist I – Radiologist, and two Health Administrative Assistant III positions.

In the Department of Finance, Planning, Budget, and Revenue, the county advertised one Driver position under Job Group H.

Makueni Department Of Water

The Department of Water, Sanitation, and Irrigation is seeking to recruit one Managing Director for the Makueni Rural Water and Sanitation Company.

Meanwhile, the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, and Co-operative Development announced six vacancies.

The positions include one Inspector (Agriculture) and five Plant Operator III positions.

The highest number of vacancies was announced in the Department of Devolution, Public Participation, County Administration and Special Programmes, which advertised eight positions.

Devolution Department

These include three Village Administrator III positions, listed as re-advertisements, and five Fire Fighter positions.

The county government stated that full details on job descriptions and requirements can be accessed through the Makueni County Public Service Board website, as well as at the County Government Headquarters, County Assembly, and County Public Service Board notice boards.

Applications are required to reach the board on or before 5:00 p.m. East African Time on June 11, 2026.
