WPP Scangroup Announces Exit of COO Miriam Kaggwa

WPP Scangroup Chief Operating Officer Miriam Kaggwa is set to exit the Nairobi-listed marketing and communications group on June 1, 2026, marking the end of a three-year tenure.
During her time at WPP Scangroup, Kaggwa served as Chief Financial Officer from February 2023, before being promoted to Chief Operating Officer in January 2025.
“WPP Scangroup Chief Operating Officer Miriam Kaggwa is exiting the Nairobi-listed marketing group on 1 June 2026, ending a three-year tenure,” read a statement.
She later stepped into the role of interim Chief Executive Officer between July and November 2025, leading the company through a transitional leadership period.
Her departure now brings to a close a period in which she occupied three major executive positions within the organisation.
Miriam Kaggwa Exits WPP Scangroup After Three Years
According to WPP, Kaggwa is a seasoned finance executive with extensive experience in the marketing and communications industry across North America, the United Kingdom, and emerging markets.
Before joining the company, she served as Chief Financial Officer for North America at BCW Global, a public relations agency owned by WPP.
In that role, she oversaw finance and operations across nine U.S. markets.

She also supported the North America CEO and senior leadership teams in driving business growth, improving operational efficiency, and identifying alternative revenue streams to enhance value creation.
Miriam Kaggwa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Macalester College and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
She also earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Johnson School of Management at Cornell University in the United States.
WPP Scangroup Appoints New Board Members
Elsewhere, the company announced changes to its Board of Directors following the appointment of three new non-executive directors.
In a notice dated May 15, 2026, the company confirmed the appointment of Ms. Kagiso Musi, Mr. Nick Douglas, and Mr. Manuel Segimon after the retirement of three non-executive directors, Jon Eggar, Patou Nuytemans, and Shahid Sadiq.
Additionally, WPP Scangroup Plc said the changes reflected its continued commitment to strengthening governance and supporting long-term strategic growth.
Kagiso Musi is a Pan-African marketing executive with 25 years of experience in creative, media, and broadcast industries across South Africa and the continent, while Manuel Segimon is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at WPP Creative EMEA and VML EMEA.
Douglas is a Chartered Accountant (FCA, ICAEW) and holds a master’s degree from the University of Cambridge.
