Kenya Power Invites Bids for Five Tenders on Vehicles, Electrical Materials and Substation Works

Kenya Power opens 5 tenders for vehicles, copper wire, transformers, substations and engine repairs

Kenya Power is inviting bids for five tenders for motor vehicles, electrical materials, substation construction and engine repair services.

The company published the notice on June 9, 2026, with closing dates ranging between June 16 and July 8, 2026.

“Kenya Power invites tenders from interested bidders for provision of the following,” the utility said in the notice from its General Manager, Supply Chain and Logistics.

The first tender requests for supply of motor vehicles, prime movers, low loaders and electric motor vehicles.

This tender’s deadline is Tuesday June 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

A second tender is for supply of copper and aluminum winding wire, which is expected to close on Wednesday June 24, 2026.

A third tender is for the supply of transformer repair materials which is to close on Tuesday June 23, 2026.

All these three tenders started on Tuesday June 9, 2026 and do not require a pre-bid meeting or site visit.

KPLC Tender Details: Substations and Engine Repair

The fourth tender, is largest in scope and requests for design, supply, installation and commissioning of primary distribution substations and associated lines at Kisaju 66/33kv substation in Kajiado County and 33/11kv substation at Kainuk in Turkana County.

The company will hold a pre-bid meeting on Monday June 15, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. And site visits are compulsory, which will be on Tuesday June 16, 2026 at Kisaju substation and on Thursday June 18, 2026 at Kainuk substation.

This tender is set to close on Wednesday July 8, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.

The fifth tender is for the repair service and spare parts for two ABC medium speed diesel engines at Marsabit Power Station.

KPLC Tender Information and Bidding Process

Prospective bidders are required to visit the KPLC Marsabit Off-Grid station during official working hours before Thursday June 25, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.

Kenya Power stated in the notice that tender documents containing full requirements were available on its website http://www.kplc.co.ke from the issue dates as outlined in each tender.

The notice did not state the value of the contracts or evaluation criteria.

Firms wishing to participate in the tenders have to abide by the terms and conditions outlined in the tender documents and submit their bids within the respective deadline.
