KCAA Releases Updated List of Approved Aviation Training Organizations in Kenya

The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority ( KCAA) has released a comprehensive updated list of Approved Training Organizations (ATOs), outlining all accredited aviation schools, their courses, and physical locations.

The move is aimed at strengthening aviation safety standards, improving training quality, and expanding opportunities for aspiring aviation professionals.

To begin with, the list is anchored by the East African School of Aviation, located along Old Airport Road in Embakasi, Nairobi. The institution offers:

  • Flight Operations and Dispatch (FOD)
  • Air Traffic Control (ATC)
  • Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence (AMEL)

KCAA Confirms Wilson Airport Remains the Main Aviation Training Hub

In addition, Wilson Airport in Nairobi continues to serve as the main hub for most flight training organizations.

These institutions, along with their physical locations, include:

  • Kenya School of Flying – Wilson Airport; Malindi Airport; Orly Airpark
  • Standards Aviation – Wilson Airport, Nairobi
  • Flight Training Centre – Wilson Airport; Nyari-Boe Airstrip, Mombasa
  • Ninety Nines Flying School – Wilson Airport; Malindi Airport
  • Proactive Air Services – Wilson Airport, Nairobi
  • Aerolink Flight Centre – Wilson Airport, Nairobi
  • Kenya Aeronautical College Flying School – Wilson Airport; Malindi Airport
  • Nairobi Flight Training Limited – Wilson Airport, Nairobi
  • Westrill Aviation Limited – Wilson Airport, Nairobi
  • Capital Connect Aviation Supplies Limited – Wilson Airport, Nairobi
  • Pegasus Flyers (EA) Limited – Wilson Airport, Nairobi
  • Think Adation Training – Wilson Airport, Nairobi
  • Flitestar Academy – Wilson Airport, Nairobi
  • Global Quality and Safety Solutions – Wilson Airport, Nairobi
  • ALS Limited Training Organization – Wilson Airport, Nairobi
  • Awedge Consultants Limited – Wilson Airport, Nairobi
  • Eagle Winge Limited – Wilson Airport (Skyward House), Nairobi
  • Skypath College Limited – Wilson Airport, Nairobi
  • KQ Pride Centre – Kenya Airways Headquarters, Embakasi, Nairobi

Institutions Outside Nairobi 

Furthermore, institutions outside Nairobi and specialized training centres include:

  • Mt Kenya High School – Nanyuki, Nyeri County
  • BAS Aircraft Engineering Training Centre – BAS Technical Complex, Bahrain International Airport, Bahrain

Across these institutions, aviation courses are structured into key categories, including:

  • PPL (Private Pilot Licence)
  • CPL (Commercial Pilot Licence)
  • ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot Licence)
  • IR (Instrument Rating)
  • FIR (Flight Instructor Rating)
  • FOD (Flight Operations and Dispatch)
  • AMEL (Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence)
