Gulf Energy Announces Job Opportunities for Kenyans: How to Apply

Gulf Energy EP BV has announced an extensive recruitment drive as preparations intensify for the development of the South Lokichar Basin oil project, a venture expected to play a significant role in Kenya’s energy future.

In an advertisement titled “Build Kenya’s Energy Future With Us,” the company said the project represents a major milestone for the country’s energy sector and economic development ambitions.

“Gulf Energy EP BV is an independent upstream petroleum company within the Gulf Energy Group and we are leading the South Lokichar Basin oil development, Kenya’s first commercial oil development and a national investment that will shape the country for generations,” the advertisement states.

“We’re driving towards achieving a milestone: First Oil by December 1, 2026. Getting there demands a team that performs at the highest level. We’re building a culture where excellence is the standard, accountability is shared and people are trusted to deliver on commitments that matter to the whole country. The work is operationally demanding and held to rigorous standards of safety, environmental care, and technical discipline. The people who thrive here are the ones who want exactly that kind of challenge,” the company added.

Gulf Energy Company Seeks Skilled Professionals

The firm said it is looking for professionals from diverse backgrounds to support the ambitious project, particularly in Turkana and Nairobi.

“We’re now hiring across technical, operations and leadership functions. Some roles will be based in Turkana, with certain positions required on a rotational basis between Turkana and Nairobi, whilst Nairobi-based roles will involve regular travel to the field,” the notice reads.

The company emphasized that it is seeking candidates with strong technical skills and a commitment to excellence.

“Who are we looking for. We want people who bring real technical competence, sound judgment, and integrity – professionals who hold themselves to a high bar and raise the bar for those around them. Whether you’re an experienced specialist or a recent graduate whose qualifications fit one of the roles below, we want to hear from you,” Gulf Energy said.

Application Requirements and Deadline

The company stated that candidates must meet local content requirements and possess relevant qualifications for the advertised positions.

“Kenyan citizenship preferred, in line with local content requirements. International candidates must be eligible to work in Kenya. Relevant academic qualifications and professional certification for the role,” the advertisement states.

The company further indicated that successful applicants will contribute to one of Kenya’s most significant energy projects.

“We’re developing this resource in Turkana, alongside the communities who call it home. If you’re from or have roots in the Turkana community and your qualifications match an advertised role, we’d be glad to receive your application and see you help build something lasting in your own region,” the notice says.

Applicants have been directed to submit their applications through the company’s careers portal.

“Submit your application online through the Careers Portal on our official website, where you will also find full details for every role,” Gulf Energy said.

The company added that applications will close on June 26, 2026, at 5:00 pm East Africa Time.

“Given the volume of applications we expect, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Any form of canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification,” the advertisement warns.
