The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has indicated that there will be a four-hour shutdown in the online iTax system.
In a notice issued on Friday, July 3, 2026, the Authority said the routine maintenance would run from 8:00 p.m. on Friday to 12:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, 2026
This means that the maintenance will last for four hours, during which all iTax services will be inaccessible to all users.
“Please be advised that there will be a scheduled maintenance of iTax from Friday, 3rd July 2026, 8:00 PM to Saturday, 4th July 2026, 12:00 AM. We regret any inconvenience caused,” KRA stated.
In the notice sent to its subscribers, KRA advises taxpayers and all other stakeholders to make prior arrangements in order to avoid disruption of their activities.

iTax Services to Be Temporarily Unavailable
The authority further clarified in the accompanying notice that the entire iTax platform will be inaccessible throughout the maintenance period.
KRA added that users should expect a complete service interruption during the exercise.
“During this period, iTax will be unavailable to all users. Any inconvenience caused is highly regretted,” KRA said.
The temporary shutdown means taxpayers will not be able to access services such as filing tax returns, making tax payments, generating tax compliance certificates, updating taxpayer information, applying for tax services, or carrying out other online tax transactions until the maintenance exercise is completed.
