IEBC Updates Ol Kalou Vote Count, Explains How to Track Results Live

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has issued an update on the voting in the Ol Kalou Constituency by-election that is progressing smoothly, with voter turnout reaching 38.2% by 1 p.m.
In a status update issued on July 16 2026, IEBC said polling had continued as planned in the by-election to fill the vacant position of Member of the National Assembly for Ol Kalou Constituency.
The electoral body noted that the exercise was proceeding without interruption and assured the public that it would continue providing regular updates on the conduct of the poll.
IEBC also appealed to all stakeholders including political parties, candidates, voters, agents and the media to adhere to the law and help maintain peace throughout the electoral process.
Where To Check Results
According to IEBC the by election results will be available to the public on their results portal .
After the close of polling at 5.00. P.m. the presiding officer in the presence of agents, observers and the media will open the ballot boxes.

They will then proceed to count the votes in an open and transparent process as they will be allowed to take photos of what is going on.
Party leaders who want to go and see the counting of votes have been advised by IEBC to maintain law and order.
Voting
After the vote counting the aspirants have been told by the electoral body that if they have any disputes they should be resolved in the court of law.
As the process of determining the new member of parliament of Ol Kalou continues taking place, there has been reposted chaos by police and voters there.

There have also been allegations that the voters of Ol Kalou are being bribed in order to change their voting decision.
Justin Muturi has publicly called on IEBC and Safaricom to investigate the matter however no party has responded to the allegations.
