Kenya Power Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced industrial attachment opportunities for continuing students who are seeking practical work experience during the September 2026 intake.

In a notice by KPLC, the three-month attachment programme is part of the government’s commitment to supporting youth empowerment by providing students with an opportunity to gain experience.

KPLC said the attachment opportunities are available in various departments and will run for a maximum of three months from September to November 2026.

However, Kenya Power clarified that this time they will not be offering attachment opportunities to students pursuing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) or any related courses.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for the attachment program, students must be available for the entire three-month period.

The students should also be continuing students who are pursuing a degree, diploma or certificate at an accredited learning institution.

Additionally, the applicants are required to provide a valid introduction letter from their institutions and also possess a valid personal accident insurance cover for the entire attachment period.

Interested candidates have been directed to submit their applications through the KPLC careers portal before the set deadline, which is July 27 2026.

Shortlisted Candidates To Be Contacted

According to KPLC, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the next step of the process.

KPLC also warned applicants against canvassing, stating that any attempt to influence the recruitment process will result in automatic disqualification.

In its announcement, Kenya Power reaffirmed its commitment to equal employment opportunities, stating that the recruitment process will be conducted fairly and in line with its employment policies.

The attachment programme is aimed at giving the students practical exposure in a professional work environment while enabling them to apply classroom knowledge in real-life settings.
