Skai Jackson Apologises After Outrage From Kenyans Following Her Demeaning Comments

Skai Jackson has apologised publicly to Kenyans after facing backlash for making demeaning comments about Kenya lacking mirrors.

In a video posted across her social media pages, Jackson has issued a formal apology to Kenyans, saying that she did not mean the whole country but a small village she visited in 2018.

“I just want to apologise for my conversation when I was talking about my trip to Kenya. I did not mean any disrespect by it,” she said.

According to Jackson, the children and teachers in the village are the ones who told her that mirrors in Kenya are so expensive and that they do not know what they look like.

Jackson says in the video that she did not mean the whole of Africa and she was not trying to be disrespectful. She explained that she actually enjoyed her trip to Kenya.

In her apology, she says that she hopes Kenyans would forgive her because she did not mean any harm.

After making the comments, she was attacked by a lot of Kenyan netizens on her social media who were even insulting her while asking for an apology.

Comments She Made

She had said that mirrors in Kenya are so expensive and Kenyans do not know what they look like.

“Mirrors are too expensive in Kenya and some Kenyans do not know their own reflections,” she said.

She also said lacking mirrors makes sure no one feels insecure or attacks the other because all of them do not know what they look like.

After making the public apology, some Kenyans are saying that she is forgiven, while others, on the other hand, are saying that she was not supposed to make the comments in the first place.
