The Central Organizations of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has warned security officers and government officials against sharing confidential information with DCP leader Gachagua.

Speaking at St. Francis Mawego church at Karachuonyo, Atwoli claimed that the officers who share information with Gachagua risk losing their jobs.

He further accused DCP leader Gachagua of misusing the information allegedly given to him by the security officers and making it public during political gatherings and rallies.

According to Atwoli, those leaking information to Gachagua should stop because it is not good for the country and they are at risk of facing disciplinary action and losing their jobs.

“Don’t give Gachagua information because he misuses that information, and he will cause people’s children in the police force, our young people, to be fired. We usually get information from the police, but we take it where it is supposed to go,” he said.

Atwoli said that he also gets information from the police, but he uses it for the right purposes only, saying that publicly sharing the information puts the officers’ lives in danger.

“You don’t announce at a meeting, ‘Oh, I’ve been told by a certain police officer that a certain thing will happen.’ You are endangering the police officers, Gachagua. Stop that foolishness of yours,” said Atwoli.

However, he did not provide any specific details of the alleged leaking of confidential information or mention the officers who are allegedly sharing information with former deputy president Gachagua.

Gachagua With Information

His remarks come after former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua always seems to know what is going on with President Ruto’s administration.

On the same note, Atwoli also criticised the Linda Mwananchi movement, claiming that they are too inexperienced to lead a country and that Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna is dividing the Luhya community.

He further alleged that someone is financing Sifuna and his colleagues in the Linda Mwananchi movement.

Atwoli further said members of the Luhya community will hold the Bukhungu Three meeting where they will decide their political stand ahead of the 2027 general elections.

This matter comes even as political leaders continue positioning themselves as they prepare for the upcoming general elections in 2027.
