Drama as Isaya Yunge’s Alleged Lover Reacts After Charlene Ruto Wedding

Drama unfolded online after Tanzanian technology entrepreneur Isaya Yunge shared pictures from his traditional engagement ceremony with Charlene Ruto.

Yunge and Charlene, the daughter of President William Ruto, held their Koito ceremony on Saturday, August 8, at Charlene’s home in Kilgoris, Narok County.

The colourful ceremony brought together family members and friends as the couple celebrated their union in line with Kalenjin traditions.

Shortly after Yunge shared pictures from the ceremony on his Instagram Stories, a woman identified as Princess Nguema reacted to several of the posts.

Her repeated comments quickly attracted attention, prompting social media users to question her apparent familiarity with Yunge and to wonder about the nature of their relationship.

Nguema appeared surprised by the engagement and questioned why Yunge had not told her about the ceremony.

“Why didn’t you tell me about this?” she wrote in one of her reactions.

In another post, she questioned the use of sticks during the ceremony, writing, “What are all the sticks for? Seriously.”

The sticks are part of Kalenjin traditional ceremonies and are carried by participants during cultural celebrations.

Nguema Questioned Charlene’s Style

Nguema also appeared to comment on several details surrounding Charlene’s appearance.

While reacting to Charlene’s nails, she wrote, “I thought the nails were supposed to match the dress.”

She also questioned Charlene’s hairstyle, asking, “Who did her hair?”

In another post, however, she appeared to approve of Charlene’s outfit, writing, “Okay, this dress is perfect.”

Nguema also complimented Charlene’s mother, First Lady Rachel Ruto, writing, “Her mom is super gorgeous, though.”

However, in another reaction involving Charlene and her parents, she compared the outfits, saying, “Her mom’s dress looks better.”

Nguema also reacted to a picture showing Charlene and Yunge holding hands.

She wrote, “Why are you touching him like that? Underage kids is watching online here.”

She further questioned the secrecy surrounding the ceremony, writing, “So why didn’t you say that you are getting married? Very sneaky move there, sir.”

In another reaction, she wrote, “Very sneaky move, sir.”

The comments appeared to suggest that she was surprised by Yunge’s engagement, although neither Yunge nor Nguema has publicly confirmed the nature of their relationship.

She Questioned the Traditional Decorations

Nguema also appeared unfamiliar with some of the cultural elements displayed during the ceremony.

“Why the sticks at the wedding?” she asked in another comment.

She later wrote “Voodoo” under a post showing cakes designed to resemble traditional calabashes used to store mursik, a fermented milk associated with Kalenjin culture.

She also reacted to some of the ceremony pictures with the words, “Speechless.”

Who Is Princess Nguema?

Princess Nguema is reported to be a member of Equatorial Guinea’s ruling family and a niece of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.

However, little publicly verified information is available about her personal life, including her connection to Yunge.

Her comments on Yunge’s Instagram Stories have instead sparked public curiosity, with social media users trying to understand who she is and why she appeared surprised by his engagement to Charlene.

Who Is Isaya Yunge?

Yunge is a Tanzanian technology entrepreneur and the co-founder and chief executive of SomaApps Technologies.

The company developed SomaApp, a mobile platform designed to connect African students with scholarship opportunities.

The platform seeks to address the problem of students missing scholarship opportunities because they are unaware that the opportunities exist.

Yunge has also been associated with other technology ventures, including KAYA, a smart speaker that uses artificial intelligence to collect Africa-related data, and Somafit, a smartwatch designed to monitor health indicators such as blood pressure and heart rate.
