Man Breaks Silence After Midnight Dispute Turns Horrific, Says He Was Burnt With Hot Water

A 34-year-old man, Williams Kato, from Namanya in Njeru Municipality, Buikwe District, Uganda, is recovering in hospital after his wife allegedly attacked him during a domestic dispute.

Kato said his wife poured hot water on him during a midnight incident on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

According to Kato, the dispute turned violent when his wife allegedly began beating him. He said her son later picked up a knife and stools during the chaos.

He said he decided to run to the house and hide in the children’s bedroom as the situation became worse.

“She got lots of bottles and continued hitting me. I was traumatised, crying, asking her to please leave me. Asking her what wrong I had done?” he said.

Kato said his wife then instructed her son to boil water. Fearing for his life, he called two workers at his bar, Mr Shenyonga and Mr Shaban Waswa, to come to his rescue.
