Kenya Met Lists Counties Set to Receive Rainfall as August Nears End

Several parts of Kenya will receive rainfall in the coming days as August enters its final week, according to the Kenya Meteorological Department.
The five-day forecast covering August 23 to 27 shows that areas in Western Kenya, the Lake Victoria Basin, Central Kenya, and the Coast will experience showers at different times.
Nairobi will have a mix of cloudy and sunny intervals during the period, with light showers expected on Sunday night.
Parts of Kiambu, Murang’a, Kirinyaga, and Nyeri will also experience varying weather conditions, including morning rain and afternoon showers.

Western Kenya, Lake Victoria Basin to Receive Showers
Western Kenya and the Lake Victoria Basin will be among the areas to watch as rainfall spreads across several counties.
Kakamega is forecast to have afternoon showers on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Nandi will also experience light showers on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday afternoons.
In Kisumu, residents could see showers on Sunday and Monday afternoons, while Homa Bay may receive light rain on Monday afternoon.
Migori is set for showers on Sunday and Monday afternoons. Kisii could have light showers on Sunday afternoon, with Nyamira also likely to receive showers on Sunday and Monday.
Kericho is expected to record moderate showers on Sunday afternoon before lighter rainfall sets in on Monday and Tuesday. Bomet could also see light showers on Monday afternoon.
Elsewhere in the Rift Valley, Nakuru may receive light showers on Monday, while Kajiado could have showers on Sunday afternoon. Laikipia is also forecast to experience light showers on Sunday and Monday afternoons.

Central Kenya, Coast to experience mixed weather
Central Kenya will see a combination of light rain, showers and sunny intervals during the forecast period.
Nyeri and Kirinyaga could receive light rain on Sunday and Monday mornings, while Murang’a is likely to have light morning rain on Sunday before afternoon showers.
In Kiambu, light rain is expected on Sunday morning, followed by showers later in the afternoon.
The weather will also vary along the Coast, where Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, and Lamu are expected to experience morning showers at different points during the week.
Mombasa could record light showers on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday mornings. Kwale is forecast to receive showers on Sunday and Thursday mornings, while Kilifi and Lamu may experience morning showers before sunny intervals later in the day.
Further east, Meru could see light showers on Sunday afternoon. Tharaka-Nithi may receive light showers on Sunday and Thursday nights, while Embu could record light rain on Sunday and Monday mornings.
Kitui is also likely to experience light showers on Thursday afternoon and Sunday night.
Northern Kenya will generally remain sunny, although Marsabit could receive light rain on Sunday morning. Wajir, Mandera, Isiolo and Garissa are expected to remain largely sunny during the period.
