Dr Rose Mulwa, Suspect in Dr Mutiso Murder, Gives Details on Gachagua

Politician Dr. Rose Mulwa, who is a suspect in Dr. Mutiso’s murder, has claimed that she turned down attempts by Gachagua’s DCP and Kalonzo’s Wiper Party, together with Linda Mwananchi, to join the opposition.

She said that despite the multiple calls to join the opposition, she refused to join them and will not be joining them, but she says she has a plan to vie for the presidency in 2027.

“In 2024, the Deputy President sent Kimani Ngunjiri, who said he was sent by Gachagua, and I told them I cannot give a party to a deputy president because he might use it to overturn the government,” she said.

Rose claimed that Gachagua wanted her to give him her political party, but she refused because at that time Gachagua was the deputy president and she did not want to risk him overturning the government.

Her Political Party

She stressed that giving a political party to a deputy president who is in office is not a good idea, as they may use it to overturn the sitting government.

Additionally, Rose also said that she rejected offers to join Kalonzo’s Wiper party and maintained that she will not be joining any party that is in opposition.

Consequently, she claimed that she managed to raise more than Ksh 40 million for Kalonzo’s Wiper Party despite her refusing to join any party in the opposition.

In addition, Rose also said that she rejected an offer to join the Linda Mwananchi Movement in opposition, which is led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.

According to her, she cannot join any opposition party because she has her own party and is planning to be on the ballot in the 2027 general elections.

Her Bid To Vie For President

Further, she said her decision was informed by her belief that she can better serve residents by remaining within her own political party and vying for the presidency.

Rose’s latest remarks come even as she remains before the court in the case of the murder of Dr. Victoria Mutiso.

The Director of Public Prosecutions approved murder charges against Rose, her son Chris Mulwa, and her daughter Angela Mulwa over the July 2026 killing, allegations they have denied.
