Last Moments of Musician Stoopid Boy Before His Death Emerge

The last moments of renowned Kenyan Arbantone musician Edgar, popularly known as Stoopid Boy, have emerged following his death.

Residents and fellow musicians have recalled their final encounters and conversations with the musician, who was reportedly found dead at his mother’s house in Eastlands, Nairobi.

Resident Recalls Last Encounter with Stoopid Boy

Carol Limbe, a resident of Gotta City in Eastlands, where Stoopid Boy lived, said she met the musician a day before his death.

While paying tribute to the Arbantone artiste, Limbe said Stoopid Boy appeared to be in good spirits during their encounter.

“Yesterday, I met him there at the river bank while I was coming from work. He was very jovial,” Carol said.

Her account is among the final encounters shared publicly following the musician’s death.

Fellow Artist Reveals Their Last Conversation

Fellow Arbantone artist Raveen Domi also recalled his final conversation with Stoopid Boy before his death.

Domi said he met the musician on his way to his mother’s house. According to Domi, Stoopid Boy told him that he was heading to the studio to work on a song.

“The guy was fine even yesterday. We had been together here on the streets from time to time, and he told me he was going to the studio. He had a song that he was working on and recording,” Domi said.

Domi said Stoopid Boy also asked him for Ksh 25, but he did not have the money at the time.

“I was leaving my place to go to my mother’s, so he asked me for about 25 shillings, but I didn’t have it. I told him, ‘Ah bro, I don’t have it. Maybe when I get to Mukuru and find some, I’ll bring it to you,’” Domi said.

The two later went their separate ways and did not meet again.

Domi said he returned home and was later called outside, where he received the news that Stoopid Boy had died at his mother’s house.

“I stayed at home for a while, then I was called outside and told that Stoopid Boy had hanged himself at his mother’s house. So sad, guys. It is really sad news,” he said.

Stoopid Boy’s Last Online Videos Surface

Videos believed to be among Stoopid Boy’s final social media posts have also emerged, with some reportedly uploaded hours before his death.

In one video, a man who appears slightly taller than Stoopid Boy grabs him by his shirt and pushes him against a wall while the two exchange words.

Stoopid Boy is heard apologising and saying:

“Okay, let me look for money so I can buy it. Sorry, I’m not causing trouble… I have no problem.”

The video appears to have been part of a staged skit or content creation. Stoopid Boy, however, appears to have a minor injury on his face.

Another video shows the musician returning home tired from work. A woman then tells him to wash the dishes and prepare food for himself.

The videos attracted widespread attention following his death, with some social media users linking the scenes to his reported mental state.

However, the woman featured in the second video later clarified on TikTok and Facebook that the scene was scripted content and that it was simply the last project she filmed with Stoopid Boy.

Kenyans Mourn the Arbantone Artist

Following his death, Kenyans, political leaders, celebrities, and fellow artistes shared messages of condolence with his family.

Media personality Oga Obinna strongly criticised the online community, content creators, and entertainment industry leaders, arguing that Stoopid Boy had not received enough support.

He also criticised social media users who allegedly mocked the musician or left cruel comments about his struggles.

Obinna further called out content creators whom he accused of using the artiste’s struggles to chase online attention instead of offering meaningful support.

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino also mourned Stoopid Boy, describing him as a brother, friend and good soul.

“Life can be so unpredictable. It is painful to accept that you are no longer with us. You were a brother, a friend, and a good soul. Rest well, bro. You will never be forgotten. May your soul rest in eternal peace, Stoopid Boy.”

Stoopid Boy was known for his contribution to Kenya’s growing Arbantone music scene and his hit song “G-Bag Na Jug.”
