Oburu Breaks Silence, Says He Is Recovering at Home After Hospital Discharge

Siaya Senator and ODM leader Oburu Oginga has dismissed reports that he was readmitted to Nairobi Hospital.
Speaking to The Star, Oburu said he left the hospital on Monday morning, August 31, and is now recovering at his home in Nairobi.
Oburu questioned the reports that he had been taken back to the hospital, saying those spreading the information had not contacted him.
“Those people saying I have been readmitted, have they talked to me? They have not looked for me,” Oburu said.
Oburu Denies Readmission Reports
Besides, he also dismissed reports that visitors had been restricted to only his close family members during his hospital stay.
He said several leaders visited him while he was receiving treatment, including Cabinet Secretaries.
“I have received so many visitors. Cabinet secretaries like Opiyo Wandayi, the Energy CS, visited me,” he stated.

Robert Alai Dismisses Reports
Kileleshwa Ward MCA Robert Alai also dismissed the reports about Oburu’s alleged readmission.
In a post on social media, Alai said the ODM leader was at home and doing well.
“ODM Party Leader isn’t in the hospital. He is very much ok and at home now,” Alai said.
He added, “Wacheni fake news.”
The statement came amid reports circulating about Oburu’s health and alleged restrictions on visitors at the hospital.
Reports by the Daily Nation had earlier claimed that Oburu had been readmitted to Nairobi Hospital and that only close family members could visit him.
The 83-year-old politician has been away from the public eye in recent days, raising concerns about his health.
Oburu has not disclosed details about the condition that led to his hospital admission.

Doctor Gives Update on Oburu’s Health
A doctor at the hospital where Oburu was admitted has also confirmed that the senator spent two days at the facility before his discharge on Monday.
The doctor said Oburu left the hospital after doctors assessed him and cleared him to go home.
“He was okay when he was leaving, nothing major. His sugar just went a bit low, but he is okay,” the doctor told the Star.
