SHA Issues Fresh Directives, Sets New Deadline for Healthcare Providers

The Social Health Authority (SHA) has extended the deadline for healthcare providers and other stakeholders to submit feedback on proposed healthcare provider contracts.

In a notice dated September 11, the Authority said the new deadline is Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 11:59 p.m., giving stakeholders an additional seven days to review the proposed contracts and submit their comments.

SHA said the extension applies to healthcare providers and facilities, representative associations and other interested stakeholders.

“The Social Health Authority (SHA) wishes to notify all healthcare providers and healthcare facilities, their representative associations and other interested stakeholders that the deadline for submission of comments, views, representations and written memoranda on the proposed healthcare provider contracts has been extended,” read part of the notice.

SHA Moves Deadline for Healthcare Provider Contract Feedback

The Authority invited stakeholders to submit their comments, views, representations and written memoranda on the proposed contracts.

SHA encouraged all affected stakeholders to use the additional time to review the proposed contracts and provide their feedback before the new deadline.

According to the notice, the proposed contracts are part of its preparations for the healthcare provider contracting cycle running from October 1, 2026, to June 30, 2029, which will cover four funds administered under the health insurance system.

These are the Primary Health Care Fund (PHCF), Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF), Emergency, Chronic and Critical Illness Fund (ECCIF), and Public Officers Medical Scheme Fund (POMSF).

Healthcare providers and other stakeholders have been invited to review the proposed contracts and raise any issues or make recommendations before the contracting cycle begins.

Proposed Contracts Available for Review

SHA said stakeholders wishing to submit feedback should use the feedback form provided by the Authority.

The proposed contracts are also available through the SHA website for review.

“The proposed contracts are available on the Authority’s website at https://portal.sha.go.ke/,” read part of the notice.

The Authority urged healthcare providers, facilities, representative associations and other interested parties to take advantage of the extended period and submit their views before the deadline.
