Drama at Woodcreek School as Morara Kebaso Blocked from Seeing Children

A heated exchange has reportedly unfolded at Woodcreek School after Morara Kebaso sought access to his children, adding a new twist to his long-running dispute with ex-wife Mercy Makini.

The school principal reportedly told Kebaso that the institution had received strict instructions from his ex-wife, Makini, not to allow him to see the children.

Kebaso, however, maintained that he is their father and should be allowed to access them, pointing to previous communication in which Woodcreek School recognised him as a parent.

The reported confrontation brings the former couple’s private dispute into a school setting, months after their disagreements spilled onto social media.

Woodcreek confrontation adds new chapter to family dispute

Kebaso and Makini have previously exchanged accusations publicly, with the welfare and upbringing of their children emerging as one of the main points of disagreement.

Makini previously questioned Kebaso’s involvement in the children’s lives.

“Where do you get the moral authority to mention kids that you have no idea what they’ve been eating for the last 6 months?”

Kebaso responded by defending his role as a father, saying he had remained involved in their education and had attended every parents’ meeting since the children started school.

He also detailed disagreements over their schooling, claiming the children had been moved from Rophine School to an international institution while he was away in China, resulting in school fees and other expenses for two children rising to about Ksh 1 million per term.

“The school fees plus other needs for two children is now 1 million per term. I protested this move. Not because of the cost but because I don’t believe in the values taught at international schools,” he said.

Morara previously detailed efforts to stay involved

The school dispute also comes against the backdrop of Kebaso’s earlier claim that he made efforts to remain involved despite the breakdown of his relationship with Makini.

He said he regularly visited the children’s former school and would make unannounced visits to check their classwork, challenging teachers to confirm his involvement.

“Teachers of Rophine School. Can you kindly confirm this. That I used to come to school uninvited randomly to check classwork,” he said.

Kebaso also said the disagreement over the children had already reached court, urging Makini to let the legal process determine what should happen next.
