The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has announced a 23-day traffic disruption along Ngong Road near the Junction Mall area.

In a public notice issued on November 6, 2025, KURA said the disruption will run from November 18 to December 10, 2025.

“The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) wishes to notify the general public of a temporary traffic disruption along Ngong Road around the Junction Mall Area effective Tuesday, 18th November 2025, to Wednesday, 10th December 2025,” read part notice.

What Has Caused Traffic Disruption

KURA said the extension of the steel structure for the flyover that is currently under construction has led to traffic disruption.

Work will be done only 6 days per week from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM except on Sunday.

“The disruption is to allow for the erection of the steel structure for the flyover currently under construction. The works will be carried out between 8:00 PM and 5:00 AM daily except on Sunday,” read the part notice.

Alternative Routes

KURA also said traffic will therefore be diverted between Nairobi City County Training School and Kenya Science Campus to ease congestion.

“Traffic will be diverted between Nairobi City County Training School and Kenya Science Campus to accommodate two-way traffic within the section,” KURA said.

They also urged motorists to exercise caution when approaching the construction area.

Additionally, motorists should observe traffic signs and directions issued by traffic police officers who will be on duty to ensure smooth traffic flow.

KURA reaffirmed its commitment to transforming urban mobility and apologized to the public for the inconveniences caused.
