The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has issued a statement on the ongoing investigations about the shooting of Lawyer Kyalo Mbobu.
DCI commiserated with the family, friends and associates of Mbobu who was shot in a drive by shooting incident that took place on September 9, 2025, along Magadi road.
“We wish to inform the public that immediately the incident was reported, the scene was visited by a team of detectives under the leadership of RCIO Nairobi,” DCI said.
DCI said the team secured the scene and other detectives from the DCI Homicide Bureau supported by experts from the National Forensic Laboratory carefully examined the scene and collected critical evidence essential to the investigations.
The DCI said it is committed to ensuring that the perpetrators of this heinous act are brought to justice.
The Investigative Agency has asked Kenyasn to exercise calm and maintain peace as investigations to find the perpetrators and ensure justice is served.
“Our investigators are working diligently, employing all available resources and expertise to piece together the events surrounding this incident. We appeal for calm during this challenging time and request the public’s cooperation as we work to resolve this case. We are determined to provide the justice that Lawyer Kyalo Mbobu and his loved ones deserve,” DCI said.
Additionally, DCI asked anyone with information that could aid the investigations to report to the nearest police stations or call via the official phone numbers.
DCI promised to keep the public updated about the investigations into Mbobu’s death.

More information regarding the on-going investigations will be released to the public at an appropriate time,” DCI added.
