Leonard Wamuthende, who is popularly known as “Leo,” is the Member of Parliament (MP) elect of Mbeere North Constituency. Wamuthende was born in Kianthawa village in Nthawa ward, Mbeere North constituency. On November 27, 2025, in a by-election, he garnered 15,802 votes, narrowly beating DP candidate Newton Kariuki in the parliamentary race, who secured 15,308 votes.
