Dandora Phase III Gang Busted as Police Recover Stolen Phones and Kenya Power Meters

Dandora Phase III witnessed a major police crackdown on May 26, 2026, as officers arrested five suspects linked to a criminal network that has been terrorising residents through mobile phone snatching, robberies, and the theft of Kenya Power token meters.

The Dandora Phase III operation comes amid growing concern over rising crime incidents reported by residents in the area.

The operation, carried out by officers from Dandora Police Station within the Nairobi Region, followed intelligence reports and heightened surveillance targeting organised criminal activities.

As a result, authorities intensified efforts in Dandora Phase III to dismantle criminal networks operating within Nairobi’s residential estates.

“Police officers based at Dandora Police Station within the Nairobi Region yesterday, 26th May 2026, conducted a targeted operation which culminated in the arrest of five suspects believed to be members of a criminal gang that has been terrorising residents through mobile phone snatching, robberies, and the theft of Kenya Power token meters within the estates,” the NPS stated.

Dandora Phase III Raid Uncovers Concealment Hub

Acting on credible leads, officers raided a mobile phone repair shop located in Dandora Phase III.

They identified the premise as a concealment and distribution point for stolen property. Moreover, investigators established that the shop in Dandora Phase III played a central role in handling items stolen from residents.

“The operation, informed by intelligence reports and heightened surveillance within the area, forms part of ongoing efforts to dismantle organised criminal networks operating in Nairobi,” police stated.

Operation Yields Stolen Items

During the raid, officers recovered twenty-one mobile phones of various makes and models.

They believed criminals stole the devices from members of the public through snatching incidents and robberies committed within Dandora Phase III and nearby estates.

In addition, officers recovered twelve Kenya Power token meters, which suspects had unlawfully removed from residential premises in Dandora Phase III.

Following the operation, officers placed the five suspects in custody and launched further investigations ahead of their arraignment in court.

Police Call for Public Cooperation as Security Operations Continue

At the same time, authorities affirmed that security operations in Dandora Phase III will continue as they intensify efforts to restore order and protect residents.

Police have reiterated their commitment to sustained operations aimed at curbing crime and enhancing public safety.

“The National Police Service reiterates its commitment to sustained operations aimed at curbing criminal activities,” NPS stated.

Meanwhile, officers have urged residents to support law enforcement by reporting suspicious activities.

“We urge members of the public to continue cooperating with security agencies by providing information through the nearest police station, or via the emergency numbers 999, 911, or through the #FichuaKwaDCI toll-free line 0800 722 203 and WhatsApp number 0709 570 000,” NPS added.
