Nairobi County Executive Committee Member Geoffrey Mosiria has appealed to Kenyans to stop condemning TikTok personality Peter Kioi as he battles alcohol addiction and mental health challenges.

According to a statement, Mosiria warned that harsh public judgment could push Kioi deeper into his struggles, urging people to be more compassionate.

He said many Kenyans have been harsh toward Kioi, with some comparing his situation to that of the late TikToker Brian Chira.

However, he insisted that condemning him would not solve anything.

“Don’t wish him harm because he is already down and going through one of the worst moments of his life,” Mosiria stated.

He added that while Kioi may have made mistakes in the past, everyone deserves understanding, support, and a chance to heal and recover.

Additionally, Mosiria noted that Kioi’s condition goes beyond addiction and should be treated as a serious health issue.

He also encouraged those close to him to help him return to rehabilitation and seek specialized treatment at Mathari National Teaching and Referral Hospital, adding that the hospital has experienced psychiatrists capable of properly assessing and treating such conditions.

“This is a disease that is silently killing many in the younger generation,” he said.

Mosiria further asked Kioi’s family members and partners to support him emotionally rather than add pressure to his already difficult situation.

In addition, he revealed that he is still willing to help Kioi if he agrees to cooperate with treatment and rehabilitation efforts.

Peter Speaks Shortly After Discharge From Rehab

This development comes shortly after Peter Kioi went online, addressing followers during TikTok Live sessions shortly after leaving a rehabilitation facility where he had been admitted with help from Geoffrey Mosiria.

Peter Kioi, who has openly spoken about battling alcohol addiction, kidney complications, and liver-related health problems, appeared distressed during the livestreams as he reacted to his discharge from the rehab centre.

Speaking at Kioi’s release, Mosiria explained that the rehabilitation facility decided to discharge the TikToker following an incident allegedly occurring at the centre.

According to the county official, the management felt uncomfortable continuing to host him after what transpired.

However, after leaving the rehabilitation centre, Kioi held several emotional TikTok Live sessions in which he accused Mosiria of allegedly using his situation to market the facility.

“You will not use me to advertise your company just because Peter Kioi is there,” he said during one livestream.

The TikToker also dismissed suggestions that he should seek treatment at Mathare Hospital, insisting he would never go there despite thanking supporters who had stood by him.
