Faulu Bank Rolls Out New Banking System to Enhance Services

Faulu Bank is set to introduce an upgraded core banking system on August 17, 2026, in a move aimed at improving service delivery and enhancing the banking experience for its customers.
In a press release dated August 14, the bank said the new platform is expected to strengthen the bank’s ability to respond to changing customer and business needs while creating room for future digital innovations.
“Faulu Microfinance Bank is set to enhance the banking experience for its customers through the rollout of an upgraded core banking platform on 17th August 2026, marking a key milestone in the Bank’s digital transformation journey and efforts to deliver more responsive banking services,” read part of the notice.
Faulu Bank Set to Upgrade Core System in Major Digital Transformation Move
The microfinance bank stated that the new core banking system will provide Faulu with a more flexible technological foundation to improve its services and scale its operations.
Faulu Bank said the upgrade builds on several years of investment in strengthening its digital capabilities and operational efficiency.

According to the Faulu Microfinance Bank CEO Julius Ouma, the upgrade was part of the bank’s commitment to ensuring customers receive simple, reliable, and responsive banking services.
“Our customers expect banking to be simple, reliable, and responsive. This upgrade strengthens our ability to serve them better today while giving us greater capacity to innovate for the future,” Ouma said.
He added that the new system would help the bank keep pace with evolving customer and business requirements.
Old Mutual Backs Digital Transformation With Ksh1.2 Billion
Furthermore, the bank noted that the upgrade comes as it continues to implement its wider transformation agenda with support from its shareholder, Old Mutual.
Faulu Bank added that Old Mutual had injected an additional Ksh1.2 billion into the institution to support its growth and transformation strategy.
The investment is expected to strengthen the bank’s capacity to invest in technology, people and partnerships while expanding its support for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

Additionally, Old Mutual Group CEO Arthur Oginga said the additional capital reflected the group’s confidence in Faulu’s strategic direction and long-term growth prospects.
He said the investment would enable the bank to accelerate its transformation efforts, expand support for MSMEs and continue investing in digital capabilities.
The funding is also expected to support Faulu’s contribution to financial inclusion in Kenya.
Through the upgraded banking platform, Faulu expects to improve its ability to innovate, scale services and respond to customers more effectively.
The bank said continued investment in technology and service delivery would strengthen its role as a banking partner for MSMEs.
Faulu is also seeking to make banking services more accessible, reliable and relevant to the communities it serves as it advances its digital transformation agenda.
