Doctor Rescued, Subaru Seized as DCI Pursues Juja Abduction Suspects

A medical doctor who was allegedly abducted by armed men in Juja has been rescued by police following an operation in Athi River that also led to the arrest of one suspect.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the victim, identified as Emmanuel Kerich, was rescued after police officers from Athi River Police Station worked together with members of the public to track down the suspects.

The DCI said Kerich was with friends at Juja City Mall when three men confronted him, handcuffed him, and forced him into a Subaru Forester, registration number KBK 895W.

Investigators established that the vehicle had side mirrors displaying a different registration number, KDQ 640F, which they believe was intended to conceal the vehicle’s identity during the crime.

The suspects allegedly drove the doctor through several locations while torturing him and demanding a ransom of Ksh3 million for his release.
