REVEALED: CCTV Captures Moment Businessman Was Abducted After Meeting OCS

The family of businessman Jimmy Mutava is demanding answers from the government after he disappeared in Mlolongo, Machakos County, on Monday, July 27, 2026.

According to his family, Mutava went missing shortly after attending a meeting with a senior police officer attached to Mlolongo Police Station.

CCTV footage reviewed by the family shows armed men forcing him into a waiting vehicle before driving away.

Since then, the businessman’s family says they have not seen or heard from him, while the National Police Service has not confirmed whether officers arrested him or whether any police station is holding him.

Mutava’s uncle, David Muli, said the businessman had met the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) at Mlolongo Police Station, Mugambi, after receiving a phone call requesting the meeting.

“At around 5:00 PM, we received a call from the OCS of Mlolongo, Mr Mugambi. He called him and said he wanted to meet him. We left and headed to Mlolongo. We met him at a place called Bijuu, a small joint that had been opened in containers. We found Mr Mugambi there, and I left Jimmy, who is now missing, with him,” Muli said.

Later that evening, CCTV cameras captured Mutava standing outside the establishment while speaking with a friend on the phone. The friend, who remained connected to the call, said it became their last conversation.

The audio from the call captured a sudden disturbance, with voices heard shouting before the line remained open as Mutava was allegedly taken away.

At about 8:22 pm, another CCTV camera captured four men emerging from a double-cabin pickup truck.

The footage shows the men allegedly forcing Mutava into the vehicle before driving away. One of the men appeared to carry a rifle, while another held what looked like a pistol.

In addition, CCTV footage reviewed by the family shows the same vehicle parked near the entertainment joint where Mutava had met the police officers.

The recordings also show the vehicle moving through different areas within Mlolongo before the alleged abduction.

Family Questions Police Response After Disappearance

Following the incident, the family reported the matter at Mlolongo Police Station. However, relatives say they have not received information about Mutava’s whereabouts several days later.

Mutava’s father says phone records show his son’s handset last transmitted a signal along Kamiti Road at around 11:00 pm, almost three hours after CCTV footage captured him being forced into the vehicle.

Before he disappeared, Mutava had filed a complaint with police on June 10. In the complaint, he alleged that unknown individuals, accompanied by police officers, had attacked members of his community over an ongoing land dispute.

The family believes the complaint could have contributed to his disappearance, although authorities have not established any connection between the two events.
