Veteran journalist Janet Mbugua has announced on her social media her return to NTV with a new weekly health programme dubbed Healthy Nation, set to premiere every Sunday at 6.00 p.m.
According to Mbugua, her show will focus on key healthcare issues, including policy, access to medical services, health justice, and dignity.
Mbugua says the programme is inspired by her passion for health advocacy and aims to spark meaningful conversations around the healthcare challenges affecting Kenyans and communities worldwide.
The new show comes two months after her exit from NTV’s Fixing the Nation, when many of her fans thought she had left television.
Janet Mbugua Transition
She says she did not leave, but it was simply a transition into another programme, which she loves and wants to leave a digital footprint.
“So I left TV two months ago, and I know some of you have been wondering. I know, I’ve seen the DMs and many questions. The truth is, I wasn’t done. I was in transition, and this is where I landed,” she said.

The veteran journalist explained her passion for health matters and said that she has been talking about health matters on her platform for a long time.
“For as long as I’ve had a platform, I’ve been talking about health. Reproductive health, menstrual health, mental health, wellness. The things that happen to our bodies and our minds that we’re either too ashamed to discuss or too exhausted to fight for,” Janet said on her social media.
Healthcare Show
Additionally, she said that she wanted to put her thoughts where they could not be ignored because she believes not having access to healthcare is not an inconvenience but an injustice.
She added that lacking proper healthcare is a violation of something people are owed and she has ways to stop people from falsely diagnosing themselves and using AI, which is costing people their lives.
