CNN correspondent Larry Madowo has faced a backlash after contrasting how Kenyan policed handled Arsenal fans gathering on Sunday, May 24 and past political protests.
In his remarks, Madowo noted that police allowed Arsenal supporters to assemble and disperse peacefully during recent celebrations.
However, he questioned why similar restraint is not consistently shown when young people take part in demonstrations against the government.
“Kenyan police allowed Arsenal fans to gather and disperse peacefully but they never allow the same youth to protest against the government without killing some,” he said.

Many people continued to comment asking Larry why he never uses his platform to report positive things about Kenya despite him being a Kenyan citizen.
“Having been a journalist for decades, I expect you to be cognizant of varying interests and positions in the two scenarios! Football is purely social venture, and hardly would you expect interests!Anything that touches on governance requires strict measures to be instituted,” Robert Kingo said.

Larry usually reports mostly on the positive things in Kenya and this time Kenyans have not kept quiet, he has been questioned.
