Ministry of Labour Announces Appointment of Committee Chairperson and Members

The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection has announced recruitment for the position of a chairperson and four members to serve on its Audit Committee. 

According to a notice dated August 11, the recruitment is being conducted in line with the Public Finance Management Act, 2012, the Public Finance Management (National Government) Regulations, 2015, and guidelines for establishing Audit Committees in public entities. 

“ Pursuant to section 73(5) of the Public Finance Management Act, 2012, Public Finance Management (National Government) Regulations, 2015, Section 174(1) and the guidelines for the establishment of Audit Committees in public entities vide Kenya Gazette Notice Vol.CXVIII No. 40 of 15 April 2016, the Ministry of Labour invites applications from qualified and interested persons to fill the following positions of the Audit Committee,” read part of the notice.

Ministry of Labour Announces Requirements for Audit Committee Chairperson

Applicants seeking to serve as chairperson must hold a degree from a recognised university and have at least seven years of knowledge and experience in audit, financial management or accounting.

Candidates must also be members of ICPAK or the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and be in good standing.

Additionally, applicants are required to have knowledge and experience in risk management.

The Ministry said candidates must also be persons of integrity and comply with the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.

Requirements for Audit Committee Members

For the four member positions, applicants must have a degree from a recognised university and at least five years of work experience.

They must also be members of a professional body and be in good standing.

Candidates are further required to know about public service and government operations, as well as experience in risk management.

The Ministry said applicants must also demonstrate integrity and comply with the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Interested candidates are required to submit a detailed curriculum vitae, copies of academic and professional certificates, a copy of their Identity Card and testimonials.

Applications should be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Chairperson” or “Member of Audit Committee”, depending on the position being applied for.

Applicants may also hand-deliver their applications to the NSSF Building, Block A, 5th Floor, Central Registry, Eastern Wing.

The deadline for submitting applications is August 25, 2026, during working hours.

Required Documents During Interviews

Shortlisted candidates will be required to produce the originals of their National Identity Cards, academic and professional certificates, and transcripts during the interview.

They will also be required to present clearance from the National Police Service, HELB, KRA, EACC, and an accredited Credit Reference Bureau.

The Ministry of Labour cautioned applicants against attaching original documents to their applications, noting that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

It further warned that canvassing in any form will result in automatic disqualification.

The appointed candidates will serve on the Audit Committee for a period of three years.
