Homa Bay Town Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Kaluma has allegedly been captured on video directing a group of youths to target people supporting the “WANTAM” campaign ahead of the Linda Mwananchi rally in Homa Bay.
The MP was addressing a public gathering in Homa Bay on Saturday, August 15, a day before the planned rally.
In the video, he appears to give instructions to the mobilised youths as they respond with chants of agreement.
Kaluma is heard telling the crowd that they had now given themselves a command to protect their home area.
He then refers to people who shout “WANTAM”, saying they were among them.
He also appears to warn drivers and other people who had worked with the opposing political camp but were unwilling to support their movement.
“From today, we are giving the command that anyone who says one term, pass with them. If u are among us and you worked for the other side, and you don’t think you can walk with us, disappear,” he said.
Further, he stated that hotels and houses will be checked to establish people who had booked rooms in Homa Bay Town.
He warns hotel owners against hosting members of the opposing group, saying their premises could be vandalised.
“Every hotel and home they booked, we are going to inspect. If you own a hotel in Homa Bay, you need to know who sleeps in your hotel because we will pass with that person and maybe even your hotel,” Kaluma said.
The MPS emphasized that Homa Bay is an ODM zone and the country is behind President Ruto’s reelection campaign.
“All the fuel you guys will use has been catered for. This is an ODM zone, and we are saying Ruto two-term,” he added.
