Tragedy Strikes Khalwale’s Family as Wife Gloria Collapses and Dies

Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale is mourning the death of his wife, Gloria Sekeiyan Khalwale, who suddenly collapsed and died on Saturday morning after suffering a heart attack.

Khalwale announced Gloria’s death in a statement, describing her as his “dear wife” and confirming that the medical emergency occurred on Saturday morning.

“My dear wife, Gloria Sekeiyan Khalwale, has this morning suddenly collapsed and died after a heart attack,” Khalwale said.

Gloria’s Sudden Death

The senator did not give further details about the circumstances surrounding Gloria’s collapse or indicate whether she had shown any signs of illness before the heart attack.

Her death was announced shortly after the incident, with Khalwale’s statement providing the first confirmation of the loss. The news comes as the family begins to deal with the unexpected death of Gloria, who was a mother of eight children.

Gloria’s passing also marks another loss in Khalwale’s family. The senator previously lost his first wife, Adelaide Shikanga Khalwale, who died in 2019. At the time, Adelaide’s death was attributed to pulmonary hypertension.

Gloria Was Mother of Eight Children

Gloria was the mother of Engine Kukaste Khalwale, Olivia Sabayi Khalwale, Flavia Shimuli Khalwale, Gift Atubukha Khalwale, Meliza Khamwenyi Khalwale, Velma Nasiebanda Khalwale, Sonia Inuni Khalwale and Maura Makatse Khalwale.

Khalwale had previously spoken publicly about his family, saying Gloria was the mother of eight of his children. In 2024, he disclosed that he had four wives and 17 children, with Gloria being the mother of eight.

Among the children named in the senator’s latest announcement is Engine Kukaste Khalwale, whose achievement Khalwale recently celebrated after he graduated as a certified full-stack software engineer in July.
