Share

Police officers in Lolgorian killed two suspected robbers and recovered an AK-47 rifle during a shootout, cutting short what officers described as a violent crime spree across Narok County.

Officers from Lolgorian Police Station acted on intelligence and trailed the suspects to Olakira, where they caught the trio breaking into a local pub and loading assorted alcoholic drinks into a getaway motorcycle.

When the suspects spotted the officers, they abandoned the loot and fled into the night.

“We gave chase immediately and cornered them at the Olkilorit area,” a police officer at the scene said. “They refused to surrender and opened fire on our team.”

Neutralization of a Criminal Syndicate and Recovery of Weapons

The officers responded with lethal force, fatally injuring two suspects, and a third suspect escaped with gunshot wounds and remains at large.

At the scene, police recovered an AK-47 rifle with a magazine loaded with two rounds, two Maasai swords, a claw hammer, a Red Boxer motorcycle, and assorted alcoholic beverages.

Investigators said the weapons and stolen items linked the group to a series of murders, violent robberies, and burglaries in the area.
