Umma University Announces Job Vacancies: Requirements and How to Apply

Umma University is a chartered university in Kenya committed to excellence in teaching, learning, research, innovation and community service.
As part of its efforts to strengthen its academic and administrative capacity, the institution has announced 14 job vacancies across senior management and academic and administrative positions to support its strategic growth and institutional development.
The vacancies offer qualified professionals an opportunity to join the university and contribute to its continued growth and delivery of quality education and services.
The university advertised the vacancies under reference VA/UU/08/2026 and is seeking suitably qualified, visionary, competent, dynamic, results-driven, and highly motivated professionals with demonstrated integrity and a strong record of performance.
Umma University Senior Management and Administration Vacancies
First, the university has advertised four positions under Senior Management & Administration:
- Deputy Vice Chancellor – Planning, Administration & Finance (PAF) — VA/UU/ADMN/001/2026
- Director – Quality Assurance — VA/UU/ADMN/002/2026
- Director – Open, Distance and e-Learning (ODeL) — VA/UU/OD/003/2026
- Senior Accountant — VA/UU/FN/004/2026
Academic Positions Available
In addition, Umma University has advertised nine academic positions across various disciplines:
- Full Professor/Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer/Lecturer – Computer Science/Information Technology (IT) — VA/UU/CS/005/2026
- Full Professor/Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer/Lecturer – Medical-Surgical Nursing — VA/UU/NU/006/2026

How to Apply
To apply, interested candidates should submit their applications online through the university’s recruitment portal.
“Interested and qualified candidates should submit their applications online through the Umma University Jobs Portal: jobs.umma.ac.ke,” the university directed.
Applicants must upload a detailed curriculum vitae, copies of their academic and professional certificates, contact details of three referees, and current salary/income details where applicable.
In addition, applicants should review the requirements for their preferred position before completing the application.
“Full job descriptions, duties, responsibilities, qualifications, experience requirements and other position-specific information are available on the Umma University Jobs Portal,” the university stated.
The university has set the application deadline for Friday, September 4, 2026, by close of business.
Only shortlisted candidates will receive further communication from the university.
