The Rwanda Development Board (RDB) has announced new travel and health measures aimed at preventing the spread of Ebola into the country.
In a public notice released on Monday, May 25, 2026, the agency said Rwanda remains free of Ebola cases and that tourism, conferences, business activities, and local travel are continuing as usual.
The notice follows enhanced Ebola prevention measures announced by Rwanda’s Ministry of Health.
“There are no cases of Ebola within Rwanda, and measures are actively in place to safeguard public health and the well-being of residents, visitors, and non-human primates,” the notice stated.
Rwanda Tightens Border Health Screening
Rwandan authorities said they have strengthened health screening and surveillance at land border points and at Kigali International Airport.
Under the new rules, foreign nationals who travelled to or passed through the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) within 30 days before their planned trip to Rwanda will not be allowed entry.
However, Rwandan citizens and foreign residents with valid residency documents will still be allowed into the country.
Authorities said those who recently travelled through the DRC will undergo mandatory quarantine procedures in line with public health regulations.

Tourism and Business Activities Continue Normally
The Rwanda Development Board assured travelers and investors that tourism and economic activities remain fully operational across the country.
According to the notice, national parks, hotels, conference venues, and tourism facilities continue to operate normally while maintaining health and safety standards.
“Visitors are encouraged to enjoy their planned activities with confidence while adhering to recommended public health practices,” the statement said.
