Anti-Narcotics detectives (ANU) have dismantled a drug trafficking ring, arrested 3 suspects and also seized cannabis worth Ksh 6 million.
According to a statement by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) the operation took place in the Mtopanga area in Mombasa County.
Detectives acted on a tip-off, which led them to a two-bedroom house where illegal activities were going on.
The detectives believe the house was being used as a storage and distribution point for the narcotics that were found inside.
DCI Discover Cannabis
Upon entering the premises, the DCI recovered three sacks filled with cannabis sativa, which weighed approximately 200 kilograms.
During the operation, officers also recovered a Honda motorcycle bearing registration number KMGA 080F.
Investigators suspect it was being used in the transportation and distribution of the drugs within the region.
The suspects arrested during the raid were identified as Ruth Ayoo Ouko, Peter Juma Kamito, and Dennis Wandera Okuku.

Suspects In Custody
The three were taken into police custody and are currently undergoing processing pending their arraignment in court.
The seized narcotics have been detained as exhibits, as investigations continue taking place.
In its statement, the DCI said the operation demonstrates the agency’s continued commitment to combating drug trafficking and dismantling narcotics networks through intelligence-led operations across the country.
The latest seizure comes amid ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to curb the trafficking and distribution of illegal drugs, particularly in coastal counties that have previously been flagged as transit routes for narcotics.

Drug Operations
Authorities have in recent years intensified crackdowns on drug-related activities in Mombasa and neighbouring regions, with security agencies conducting coordinated operations targeting traffickers, distributors, and suppliers of illegal substances.
The DCI has urged members of the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement officers by sharing information that may help in the fight against drug trafficking and other forms of organised crime.
The suspects are expected to be arraigned in court once the investigations and processing procedures are completed.
