A middle-aged man pleaded guilty on Tuesday in an Eldoret court to stealing two Bibles and a kamusi from a supermarket in Uasin Gishu County.

Victor Nyamwari Ondari appeared before Eldoret Chief Resident Magistrate Kimani Mukabi and admitted to the theft of the items, which is said to have been committed on June 7, 2026.

Ondari is said to have stolen two Bibles and one Kamusi at the Roadblock area.

According to security guards at the supermarket, they reviewed their CCTVs, which captured Ondari stealing the items.

The security officers caught him at the supermarket a day after he committed the offence and presented him to the police.

During the court session, Ondari never denied stealing the items but rather asked for forgiveness and mercy from the court, saying that he would not repeat the offense again.

“I am asking the court for forgiveness. I will never repeat this again in life,” said Ondari.

Magistrate Kimani Mukabi ordered Ondari to be remanded in Eldoret prison until the day of judgment, which will be on July 8, 2026.

The prosecution told the court how Ondari committed the offence at a supermarket at the Roadblock area in Uasin Gishu county, after which he stole two Bibles and one kamusi without paying for it when the security guards noticed their goods had gone missing.

After they saw Ondari had gone, they checked the CCTV surveillance footage, which clearly caught him in the act.
