The Kenya Meteorological Department (Kenya Met) has listed areas likely to receive rainfall during the last week of June 2026, covering June 23 to June 29, as different parts of the country expect varied weather conditions.
According to the Kenya Met weather forecast, rainfall will affect parts of the Highlands east and west of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, the Coast, the South eastern Lowlands, and sections of North eastern Kenya.
To begin with, the Highlands east of the Rift Valley, including Murang’a, Nyeri, Kiambu, and Nairobi, will receive moderate rainfall, with some areas experiencing heavier showers at intervals during the forecast period.
Similarly, Western Kenya and areas around the Lake Victoria Basin will receive significant rainfall, with localized heavy downpours in some places.
In addition, the Rift Valley region will receive rainfall, although conditions will vary across different counties.
Along the Coast, counties such as Lamu, Kilifi, and Mombasa will experience light to moderate rainfall in isolated periods.
Kenya Met Weather Forecasts for North-Eastern Kenya
Meanwhile, the Kenya Meteorological Department reports that North eastern Kenya, including Garissa and Wajir, will experience occasional showers during the week.
However, most parts of the northern frontier will remain generally dry, with rainfall occurring only in isolated and scattered areas.

Rising Temperatures in Arid and Semi-Arid Regions
On the other hand, Kenya Met forecasts rising daytime temperatures across the Coast, North eastern and North western regions.
As a result, areas such as Turkana and Mandera will experience hot and dry conditions, with temperatures exceeding 30°C and in some locations rising above 35°C.
This highlights a strong contrast in weather patterns across the country, where some regions receive rainfall while others experience intense heat.

In some locations, temperatures will fall below 10°C, leading to chilly nights and cold early mornings.
