DCI Hunts Four Suspects After Armed Robbery at Spring Valley Restaurant

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched investigations into an armed robbery at a restaurant along General Mathenge Road in Spring Valley, where four suspects robbed customers at gunpoint before fleeing the scene.

In a statement dated July 5, the DCI said the four unidentified suspects, who were riding on two motorcycles, stormed the restaurant, robbed customers of their valuables, fired two shots into the air and escaped towards the Parklands area.

“ The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has commenced investigations into a robbery with violence incident that occurred yesterday at a restaurant along General Mathenge Road in Westlands Sub-County, Nairobi County,” read part of the statement.

The agency added that a spent 9mm cartridge had been recovered from the scene which has since been submitted for forensic analysis.

The DCI also said investigators have already recorded statements from several victims, with more victims and witnesses expected to provide their accounts as investigations continue.

Additionally , the investigative agency noted that detectives from the Imaging and Acoustic Section are also retrieving and analysing CCTV footage from the area to help identify the suspects and establish the sequence of events.

It further stated that Crime Scene Investigators have submitted key evidence recovered from the scene for forensic examination as part of the ongoing probe.

According to the DCI, intelligence and forensics-led investigations are underway, with detectives working to identify, apprehend and arraign the four suspects before the courts.

The agency said the investigation is being supported by forensic evidence and intelligence gathering to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.

“The DCI wishes to assure the public of its unwavering commitment to safeguarding the safety and security of all persons within the Republic and to ensuring that those responsible for criminal acts are held accountable and brought to justice,” the agency said.

Robbery at Gunpoint at Spring Valley Restaurant

The robbery that left several customers at the restaurant terrified happened on Saturday night, July 4, 2026.

According to the CCTV footage seen by HiviLeo , two men, one in a white hoodie and another in a blue jacket, entered the restaurant after being dropped by a motorcycle at around 10:35 pm and displayed their guns before commanding customers seated inside.

In the footage, the suspects appeared to move swiftly through the premises, with terrified customers seen attempting to comply as the situation unfolds.

The footage appeared to show the attackers ordering customers to surrender their belongings before taking phones and other personal belongings . Within minutes, the robbery was over and the suspects fled the scene

Meanwhile , a security officer stationed at the cafe was seen trying to confront one of the attackers, but he was overpowered.

Moments later, the robbers were seen threatening to fire into the air before fleeing on motorcycles.
