Huduma Kenya Rolls Out Extended Hours at Makueni Centre

Huduma Kenya has announced extended operating hours at the Makueni Huduma Centre, making it the 21st centre nationwide to offer services from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m effective July 20, 2026.

In a press release dated July 20, Huduma Kenya said the new operating hours are intended to improve access to government services for residents who are unable to visit the centre during the standard 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. working hours.

“Huduma Kenya has officially announced that Makueni Huduma Centre will operate from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, effective July 20, 2026,” read part of the press release.

Makueni Becomes 21st Huduma Centre With Extended Hours.

According to the agency, the extended hours have been designed to reflect the economic activities of Makueni residents, many of whom work in farming, horticulture and small-scale businesses.

In addition, Huduma Kenya noted that farmers who begin work before sunrise will now have an opportunity to access government services early in the morning, while traders and horticultural producers can visit the centre in the evening after completing their day’s work.

“Farmers who begin their day early in the fields can now process government documents before sunrise duties, while traders and horticultural producers who spend long hours at local markets can access services in the evening without disrupting their business,” Huduma Centre stated.

The agency said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to delivering inclusive, efficient and citizen-centred public services.

It added that the expanded operating hours are part of ongoing efforts to improve accessibility and ensure more Kenyans can conveniently access government services.

21 Centres Now Operating From 7 am to 7 pm

Huduma Kenya said the addition of Makueni brings the number of centres operating under the extended-hours programme to 21 across the country.

The agency expressed confidence that the revised schedule will provide greater convenience for citizens whose work commitments previously made it difficult to visit the centre during regular office hours.

Before Makueni joined the programme, Huduma Kenya had rolled out the 7 am-to-7 pm service model in 20 centres across the country. These are GPO, City Square, Eastleigh, Kibra and Makadara in Nairobi; Kiambu (Thika), Nyeri, Embu, Meru, Laikipia (Nanyuki), Nakuru, Kericho, Uasin Gishu (Eldoret), Kitale, Kakamega, Bungoma, Kisumu, Kisii, Migori and Mombasa Huduma Centres.

Under the extended operating hours, residents will be able to access a wide range of government services including National Identity Card applications and collection, birth and death certificate services, Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) services, Social Health Authority (SHA) registration and support, Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) services, National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) services, business registration, eCitizen support, and National Social Security Fund (NSSF) services.
