Kindiki Calls Gachagua “Ugly” in Savage Response to His “Soprano” Nickname

Deputy President (DP) Kithure Kindiki has responded to his predecessor’s mockery of his voice as the two battle for the soul of the Mt. Kenya region ahead of the 2027 general election.
In a statement, Kindiki said the DCP leader cannot have any meaningful discussions on policy and leadership and resorted to discussing his voice.
He stated that Gachagua has not learnt from his mistakes during his term as DP, one term as Mathira MP and District Officer (DO).
“Mr Rigathi, talking about my voice is the only contribution your emptiness and incompetence can make in matters of politics, policy and leadership,” he said.
“A disgraceful exit from public service as a DO, a most unremarkable WANTAM as Mathira MP, and your wasted two years as Deputy President seem not to have made any impact on your deplorable behaviour.”
Kindiki Hits at Gachagua Looks
Kindiki said the DCP leader can continue mocking his voice, but vowed that he would not stoop to his level by responding or discussing his “not-so-great anatomy.”
“You can mock my voice all you want. But I won’t stoop to your lowly level by trying to respond or by discussing your not-so-great anatomy,” he said.
Running Mate Race and Impeachment
He alleged that Gachagua joined UDA after he was charged with theft and forced the party to name him as the running mate.
Kindiki said the former DP organized protests in Mathira to pressure President William Ruto into picking him in 2022.
“You joined our team after you were charged with theft of public funds. You threatened your way into being named a running mate by organizing demos in Mathira to pressurize the party leadership to bend to your whimsical primitivism,” he said.

Further, he accused Gachagua of disagreeing with all UDA Party members and nearly all leaders from the Mt. Kenya region.
This, according to Kindiki, led to Gachagua losing his position as DP through impeachment.
“You were unable to keep the position; your greed led you to fall out with everyone in the party, including nearly all leaders from the Mount Kenya Region where you and I come from,” he added.

Tenure as Interior CS
Kindiki dismissed accusations that he was involved in political activities during his tenure as Interior Cabinet Secretary.
He stated that he was not bothered with Gachagua’s activities and asked him to stop misleading the people.
“As Interior Minister during the two years of your colourless tenure, I never involved myself in politics even for a day. I wasn’t bothered with your activities, so stop lying that I overruled you in matters of alcohol that you were purportedly resolving,” Kindiki said.
“I was focused on protecting Kenya from bandits, terrorists and criminals as you were building hotels, acquiring land and inciting people against the same Government that you were serving as Deputy President.”

Advising Gachagua
Besides, Kindiki said Gachagua dismissed his advice when he told him to mend his relationship with President Ruto.
He revealed that he openly told Gachagua that the other leaders from the Mt. Kenya region will remain in UDA should he decide to leave.
“I tried to ask you to find ways of mending your relationship with your then boss and other leaders, but you ignored and dismissed me,” he said.
“I let you be, but I refused to join you in sabotaging a Government we had formed. I told you if you chose to leave, the rest of us would be left to push for the public interest which had motivated us to form Government- our roads, markets, electricity, coffee and milk prices.”
Kindiki added that he will not allow the DCP leader to mislead the Mt. Kenya region with useless WANTAM chants.
“Also, I will not allow you to mislead the people of Mount Kenya with your useless slogans and chants. I like the way you underestimate me,” he said.
