The Kenya Meteorological Department(Kenya Met) has announced that several parts of the country will receive a lot of rainfall between October 28 and December 3, 2025, with isolated heavy rainfall forecasted in certain regions
In its weekly forecast, Kenya Met said rainfall will be experienced in the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, the Coastal Region, and some parts of the Southeastern lowlands, the Northwest, and the Northeastern Kenya.
Rainfall is expected over several parts of the country, including the Highlands West and East of the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, Coastal Region, Southeastern lowlands, Northwest and North East of Kenya,” stated Edward Muriuki, Kenya Met acting Director.
Muriuki said isolated heavy rainfall events may occur in some of these regions.
Temperature Outlook
Day temperatures are expected to be high, exceeding 30°C in some parts of the Coast, Northeastern, and Northwestern regions of Kenya, and night temperatures may fall to as low as 10°C in areas within the Central Highlands, Central Rift Valley, and areas around Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Highlights of Regional Forecasts.
Highlands West of the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, and Rift Valley:
There are high chances that morning rains will fall over a few places, and afternoon and night showers will fall in some areas.
Heavy rainfall may be experienced in some counties such as Kakamega, Kisii, Kericho, Bomet, Homabay, Migori, and Narok.
Northwestern Kenya
Turkana and Samburu will receive morning rains, and afternoon thunderstorms are likely in a few areas

Highlands East of the Rift Valley
This includes Nairobi, Nyeri, and Kiambu counties.
It is expected to have cloudy mornings with occasional rains giving way to sunny intervals. Afternoons and nights are likely to have showers.
Northeastern Kenya
This region includes Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo.
Rain and thunderstorms are expected across various locations
Southeastern Lowlands
This includes Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado, and Taita-Taveta.
Morning and evening rains are expected in several areas
Coastal Region
This includes Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale.
Morning, afternoon, and night showers are expected, occasionally spreading to several places

Weather Review of Previous Week.
Most regions received rainfall between October 20th and 26th, 2025, especially in the Highlands East and West of Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, and Northeastern and Northwestern Kenya.
The maximum amount of rainfall per seven days (66.2mm) was experienced at Kakamega, whereas the maximum 24-hour rainfall was found at Moyale (40.2mm) on October 26
The department also observed rising temperatures across most parts of the country.
Mandera registered the highest maximum daily temperature at 39.1°C, and Nyahururu had the lowest minimum temperature of 5.4°C.
Public Advisory
Kenya Met cautioned against overlooking any local weather warning because local heavy rainfall may cause localised flooding in prone areas.
It has also stated that this forecast should be used together with the daily and five-day Updates available at the county meteorological offices.
“We urge Kenyans to make use of our daily and five-day forecasts for planning and to contact their County Directors of Meteorology for specific local updates,” said Muriuki.
