Kenya Re Announces Retirement of Two Directors

Kenya Reinsurance Corporation Limited has announced the retirement of two of its directors, Eunice Nyala and Zacharia Nyaega, following the conclusion of their tenure on the company’s Board of Directors.
The corporation said the two directors exited the board through a rotational retirement process in line with the company’s Articles of Association.
Announcement was made in accordance with the Capital Markets Act and its Regulations, which require listed entities to communicate major corporate changes to shareholders and the public.
According to the notice issued by Kenya Re, Nyala served on the Board for four years, during which she contributed to various committees and participated in the corporation’s governance activities.
Nyaega, on the other hand, served for three years and held the position of Chairman of the Human Resource and Nominations Committee.
“Ms. Nyala has been on the Board for four (4) years and diligently served in various committees while Dr. Nyaega has been on the Board for Three (3) years and diligently served as the Chairman of the Human Resource and Nominations Committee,” the corporation stated.

Kenya Re Directors Retire After Board Service
The retirement of the two directors took effect following Kenya Re’s Annual General Meeting held on June 19, 2026.
The company confirmed that the move was part of the normal governance process established under its internal regulations.
Kenya Re’s Board and management expressed appreciation to the outgoing directors for their commitment and contributions during their time at the corporation.

“The Board and Management of the Corporation wish to sincerely thank Ms. Nyala and Dr. Nyaega for their invaluable contribution, dedication, support, and commitment to the Corporation exhibited throughout the course of their tenure as members of the Board,” the statement read.
The corporation emphasized that the directors’ service had supported its operations and governance structures, with their roles contributing to strategic oversight and decision-making within the organization.
