KMTC Announces Scholarship for Community Health Nursing Students

The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has issued a fresh update warning the public about ongoing scams targeting prospective students seeking admission into its programmes, emphasizing that the application portal for the September 2026 intake is still closed.

The institution has now raised an alarm over fraudsters posing as agents who claim they can secure admission letters for the September 2026 intake.

“Conmen are out here trying to swindle unsuspecting members of the public in the name of securing KMTC admissions. Please note that the KUCCPS portal for the September 2026 intake is still closed,” KMTC cautioned.

KMTC maintained that the application process has not yet opened through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), which remains the only authorized body for placement into public colleges.

KMTC to Share Information on Official Channels

In addition, the college assured applicants that it will share all official updates through verified channels, distancing itself from individuals claiming to influence the admission process, and warned that such claims are fraudulent.

“We will notify you through official channels once it opens. Anyone claiming to issue you with an admission letter at this stage is conning you,” the college added.

Consequently, the institution urged students, parents, and guardians to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to the scams.

Placement and Similar Scams

Notably, the warning comes shortly after the release of placement results by Julius Ogamba on July 8, where 28,246 students secured placement at KMTC, highlighting the high demand for slots in the institution.

Meanwhile, Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has also reported similar cases targeting students seeking inter-institutional transfers, with fraudsters allegedly requesting money from applicants through unofficial channels.

The official inter-institutional transfer processing fee is Ksh1,000, and applications must be submitted strictly through the KUCCPS Student’s Portal.

Moreover, KUCCPS has warned applicants against sharing personal details or engaging with unofficial links, emphasizing that all transfer requests should follow the official procedure on its platform and that the transfer window has not yet opened.
